Privacy Policy
Effective July 19, 2026
Trace is a social fragrance application. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Waitlist: your email address, consent timestamp, and signup source.
- Account and Profile: information such as email, username, display name, avatar, biography, and privacy preference.
- Activity: Logs, Wears, rankings, Scores, Notes, Vibes, Wishlist items, follows, comments, and other actions you choose to make in Trace.
- Optional Location: a coarse city label when you opt in. Trace does not store precise coordinates.
- Technical information: limited device, diagnostic, security, and usage information needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
We use information to provide Trace, derive your rankings and Scores, personalize discovery, operate social features, communicate launch or service updates, maintain security, troubleshoot problems, and comply with legal obligations.
Visibility and sharing
Profile privacy and individual Log or Wear visibility are separate controls. Public content may be visible to anyone using Trace. Followers-only content is limited to accepted followers. Community and Signals Scores may use anonymized, derived Scores without identifying who submitted an underlying ranking.
Service providers
Trace uses service providers to host and operate the product, including Supabase for application infrastructure and Cloudflare for this website, security, waitlist storage, and domain services. Providers process information on our behalf under their own contractual and security obligations.
Retention and deletion
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, legal obligations, security, and dispute resolution. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting privacy@findyourtrace.dev.
Children
Trace is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy as Trace evolves. We will post the revised policy here and change its effective date.
